About Us
Shivalaya Yoga Ashram is a spiritual heaven for yogis, seekers and anyone pursuing wisdom, peace, and divine transformation. The ashram is sequestered on a hilltop overlooking the breath-taking Begnas Lake in Nepal.
We believe yoga is one of the most valuable gifts of nature. Our environment, practices, and teachings are strongly bound by Mother Earth. Following an authentic Yogic Culture, yoga is taught and practiced around the lake, rivers and mountains. The mountains and forests surrounding our abode recharge our energies as well as calm the mind.
VISION
To cultivate discipline and love within
To recognize the true authentic self
To develop the Light Warrior within
MISSION
We appreciate nature as our greatest teacher and through Patanjali's eight limbs of Yoga we practise and embody methods to cultivate the love and discipline needed to recognize the authentic self within, the natural self.
VALUES
We emphasise on the rituals surrounding the practice, to give you the best foundation for keeping your self practice regular, when you are back into a more busy lifestyle, than what we live in the ashram.

Testimonials
Check out few words from our students who have experienced our offerings
"My stay at Shivalaya has been a significant chapter on my travels, whose depths I only came to understand years later. Being welcomed to this new home and given the opportunity to deepen my yoga practice as well as the space to explore inner realms, has been a milestone for my spiritual growth. I am dearly grateful for everyone I crossed paths with as each one of them is having their part in making this whole experience so magical. Therefore one of my favourite memories is the week of meditation assignments. Each one of us is being asked to offer a guided meditation to fellow students. For me it was giving and receiving unique and very personal pieces of creation which has been heartwarming and an incredibly inspiring journey.
I left Shivalaya 3 years ago, filled with love and unaware of all the seeds being planted within. Over the years it’s sprouting was always compelling me towards my purpose.
Thank you for this safe container to playfully discover, learn and be. Namaste."

"When I think about Shivalaya my heart is full of joy and I have happy tears in my eyes and a big smile on my face. The money I spent for that course was the best money I ever spent. I would highly recommend Shivalaya to everyone who thinks about doing yoga teacher training!
Shivalaya school is located in a small village next to the beautiful lake Begnas surrounded by breathtaking Mountains.
Teachers I've met at Shivalaya: Rebekka, Aman, Rishi are very inspiring. Their knowledge and passion about yoga, anatomy and ayurveda was mind-blowing. It was a real pleasure to listen to them and to practise with them. They all inspire others. It's a big gift they have and thankfully they decided to share that gift with the world.
I'm so thankful that I could be their student."

"It seems impossible to describe the change I experienced during my stay in Shivalaya. And how to choose one unique moment, when this whole time was just a succession of moments. Each one of which had its importance in building myself.
During the training we are kept busy from dawn to dark : practice, learn, study, eat and sleep. Without any other matter to focus on or worry for. Our only task was to absorb the seeds of knowledge our teachers were planting into our body, mind and soul. I was absorbing, minute after minute, day after day, without choosing what sink and what not, without even knowing the treasure that was growing inside of me.
It’s been 3 years since : 300 H ttc at shivalaya, other short training, thousands hours practising and teaching. I still go back to my class notes and regularly find what I need. Something old, I needed to remember or something new, a new layer of understanding of the same notes. How many times I have been practising and just realised “oh!! that is what he/she meant!!!”.
Thanks to Shivalaya I have a good knowledge base to dig-in at those moments. A knowledge base that opens doors to a lifetime of studies. Also good for me, you don’t have to know everything to teach. You just have to be willing to share what you actually know."

We were both born in these mountains and we could not be more happy to see people come from all corners of the world to feel the vibrations of these secret mountains. We are blessed to witness the transformations. We simply follow the flow of nature and listen to the internal sound of god.

LIVING AT SHIVALAYA
Shivalaya has two parts, one area, the Ashram, is devoted to educating Yoga Teachers to support the amount of light warriors in the world to grow.
5 min from the Ashram, a little deeper into the jungle, with private access to the lake we set up a Yoga Shala and housing enough for 10–15 people where our retreats are lived.
The connection between the teachers, the students and the staff is fumented by the fact that we all eat, sleep, practice and live together as a family.
Tucked in the jungle overlooking Begnas lake, Shivalaya ashram is a spiritual home devoted to the surrounding nature. We believe nature is our greatest teacher and our offerings are inspired by its lessons.
